It's no question that Omega hit it out of the park when they released the second-generation of the Speedmaster First Omega in Space, or 'FOIS'. However, with a closed steel caseback, you cannot view the technical marvel that is Omega's caliber 3861. This durable, low-profile exhibition caseback will seamlessly blend in with the aesthetics of your Speedmaster's case, enabling you to see your movement and preserve your original commemorative caseback.
 
How it's Made:
Our caseback consists of an outer ring, which we precision machine from 316L stainless steel. Then, we sandblast the slots for the opener tool, eliminating machining marks. This also contrasts the polished double-bevel, a feature of pre-moon references we recreate on the caseback to stay true to the Speedmaster's roots. 
 
After polishing the double-bevel to a mirror finish, the steel ring is carefully fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. We apply a colorless, multi-layer anti-reflective coating, ensuring clear viewing and photos of your movement.
 
The result is a finished piece fit for the venerable 3861 Master Co-Axial Chronometer powering the second-generation First Omega in Space Speedmaster.
